Heavy rains on Wednesday led to 13 deaths in Himachal Pradesh in 24 hours with the death toll mounting to 361 since June 24 in the state as per data available with the state disaster management officials
During this period, 2,228 more patients were admitted to hospital with the viral fever. Of the new patients, 899 were hospitalised in Dhaka and the rest have been admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka.
Maui Police Chief John Pelletier said on Wednesday: “No one has ever seen this who is alive today – not this size, not this number, not this volume. And we’re not done.”
While speaking to ANI, Onkar Chand Sharma, Principal Secretary, Disaster Management, said that due to the incessant rainfall from August 13-15, a total of 71 people have died and that so far, a monetary loss of around Rs 7,500 crore has been reported in this year's monsoon season.
