A mother and her three children, including an 11-month-old child, died in the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning due to a gas cylinder explosion, an official said.
"Some gas cylinders exploded, which led to the fire. Two persons have been injured in the incident. Police and the local administration have cordoned off the site of the incident at the very moment," ASP Rajesh Raghuvanshi said.
A 60-year-old man and a 55-year-old lady residing in the Mumbra area lost their lives in the incident. Those injured were admitted to the nearby hospital for treatment.
Dr Purva, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Bandra Bhabha Hospital said, "Three more people sustained burn injuries in the fire that broke out in Bandra area this morning."
Five people were injured in a fire that broke out after a domestic gas cylinder exploded at a flat in Palam Vihar in Dwarka area of Delhi on Tuesday night.
"The incident took place after 2.15 pm on the school grounds during school lunch hours when three people who were using helium cylinders to fill air balloons got injured after the cylinder and the balloon burst," Surguja Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma said on Thursday.
According to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) they recieved information from Sonprayag police station that a fire broke out in a hotel's canteen in Gaurikund due to explosion of a gas cylinder and that SDRF team is required for relief and rescue operations.
The death toll in the gas cylinder explosion that took in Sukkur city of Sindh province in Pakistan has risen to eight now, reported ARY News on Monday.
Vivek Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rural) said, "Information was recieved that a two-storeyed building collapsed and several people are feared to be trapped under the debris."
