Tahawwur Rana, a key conspirator in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, was presented before the Patiala House Court on Friday. Due to security concerns, he was produced a day earlier than the scheduled date from NIA remand. The NIA Special Court has ordered his judicial custody until June 6, 2025.
The incident occurred in Ujjain district on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday when the main accused Farman Mansoori was being taken to the district hospital after he pretended to have chest pain, the police said.
The matter came to light after an alleged obscene video went viral in a village in the district on Monday, prompting the police to take an individual into custody. Later upon interrogation, six other accused were identified and they were detained too, he added.
