CM Chouhan virtually distributed the relief amount to the affected farmers with a single click from his residence office Samatva Bhavan. People's representatives, commissioners-collectors and farmers were also connected virtually from the respective districts on the occasion.
With 'DigiClaim', claims will be disbursed electronically, which will benefit the respective farmers of six states. Now, the automated claim settlement process will be an ongoing activity to ease all insured farmers' lives and provide them with a sustainable financial flow and support.
The Chief Minister said, "Today, I am going to take stock of two hailstorm-affected districts that are Vidisha and Sagar. After seeing the condition of the crops of the farmers at both those places, I will talk to the farmers of the entire state."
CM Chouhan further said that the amount of crop insurance scheme would be given separately to the farmers. He also instructed the officials to include horticulture crops in the survey as well.
Speaking at the inauguartion event, CM Bommai said, "The disbursement of Rs 438 crore to 1.65 lakh farmers in the Haveri district is a record performance of the state government."
The PMFBY is aimed at giving farmers a simple and affordable crop insurance option to ensure comprehensive risk coverage for crops against all natural risks from pre-sowing to post-harvest and provide adequate claim amounts. The demand-driven scheme is available to all farmers.
