A youth who was mowed down in a hit-and-run case at Delhi's Indraprastha College (IP College) red light was identified and the bus driver who fled the scene has also been apprehended, said Delhi police on Tuesday.
The Air Cargo (Exports) Customs, Delhi, on Tuesday destroyed 69.876 kg drugs covered under Schedule to the NDPS Act, 1985, at the Centralised Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility operated by SMS Watergrace BMW Pvt. Ltd., said the Ministry of Finance.
Delhi police have busted a gang of cheats who used to dupe people using a fraudulent loan app called 'Cash Advance' and arrested six people, said officials. The arrested persons were allegedly extorting money on the pretext of providing an instant loan, said the police.
The arrests and recoveries were made in Punjab's Jalalabad. An FIR has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) and investigation is ongoing to arrest others involved and destroy the drug supply chain, the police said.
Senior inspector of Bangur Nagar police station, Pramod Tawde, said the accused, identified as Jitendra Joshi (27) staged his kidnapping and demanded a ransom of five lakh rupees from his own father.
