Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday expressed grief over the plane crash incident in Gujarat's Ahmedabad and prayed for the safety of all the passengers and the cabin crew members.
According to DGCA, the London-bound Air India flight crashed in the Meghani Nagar area of Ahmedabad following the take off at 01:38 pm on Thursday.The Boeing aircraft was carrying 242 people including 12 crew members.
According to plastic surgeon Dr Dinesh Kadam, a Chinese national with 40 per cent burns and an Indonesian citizen in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are being closely monitored. Both patients require more time in the ICU, whereas the condition of the other four crew members is stable.
The Taiwan Government thanked the Indian Navy and Coast Guard for quickly rescuing crew members from the vessel Wan Hai 503 and expressed hope for the safe return of the missing and speedy recovery of the injured.
According to Yu Jing, Chinese and Taiwanese crew members were among those onboard MV Wan Hai. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson wished for successful search operations and speedy recovery for injured crew members.
Four crew members were reported missing and five injured after an explosion under deck was reported onboard MV WAN HAI 503 while it was on passage from Colombo to Nhava Sheva.
According to Plastic Surgeon Kadam, the six rescuees are from multiple nationalities, including Chinese and Indonesian. Of the six rescued crew members, two have suffered critical injuries.
The Indian Navy, in a closely coordinated search and rescue operation with the Coast Guard, DG Shipping and other stakeholders, has safely rescued 18 out of 22 crew members of the Singapore-flagged MV Wan Hai 503 after a fire broke out.
The Indian Coast Guard conducted a successful rescue operation for the Liberia-flagged container vessel MSC ELSA 3, which sank off the Kochi coast on May 24. The vessel, carrying 24 crew members, had reported technical issues and was tilting soon after departing from Vizhinjam.
The vessel went down with 640 containers, including 13 with hazardous cargo and 12 containing calcium carbide. According to a release, it was also loaded with 84.44 MT of diesel and 367.1 MT of furnace oil.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Sunday confirmed that all 24 crew members of the Liberia-flagged container vessel MSC ELSA 3 have been rescued which capsized around 38 nautical miles southwest of Kochi coast.
According to officials involved in the operation, 21 of the 24 crew members onboard MSC ELSA 3 have been rescued so far while the Captain, Chief engineer, and second engineer remained onboard to facilitate planned salvage operations.
