Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday dismissed the reports of the demolition of houses which have developed cracks due to land subsidence in the Joshimath area of Chamoli, and said that "no action" is being taken to bring down the houses.

Amid civilian fears in the wake of land subsidence in the Joshimath area in Uttarakhand, sudden cracks in a few houses in the Kanwariganj area of Aligarh have caused panic in the locals, according to the sources on Tuesday.
The protesters demonstrated against the NTPC's Tapovan Vishnugad Hydroelectric Project which was being constructed in the area. The construction has been stopped with immediate effect, till further orders.
