Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil greeted people on World Water Day on Saturday and said India has made water conservation not just a matter of policy but a mass movement.

The DCM called on the Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil and submitted an appeal on Tuesday. The submissions sought funding for six fresh proposals, estimated to cost Rs 11,123 crore, under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).
He said that the number of people coming to Prayagraj also depicts the success of Namami Gange, project initiated by the Prime Minister. Patil said that even foreigners have expressed their faith by taking a dip in Sangam.

Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF), highlighted the success of government initiatives in the area of water and irrigation which will give confidence to global investors to see the sector as an opportunity.
"Through the Sewarkhedi-Silarakhedi project, nearly after 50 years the time has come when the Kshipra River will be flowing throughout the year. The pilgrims will have sufficient water to bath and residents of Ujjain will get drinking water facilities," CM Yadav told reporters.
CM Yadav stressed that many saints gave suggestions for the same and the state government was seriously considering stopping the liquor shops within the limits of the religious cities.
