Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Wednesday called it a huge accomplishment following the killing of 27 Naxals, including top CPI-Maoist leader and General Secretary Basavaraju, in an ongoing operation in the Narayanpur-Abujmarh region.
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday congratulated security forces for the successful operation in Narayanpur, where 27 Naxals were killed in an encounter, including top CPI-Maoist leader Nambala Keshav Rao alias Basavaraju.
Shah also said this is the first time in three decades of India's fight against Naxalism that a general secretary-ranked leader has been neutralised by the security forces.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said that security forces have neutralized 27 dreaded Maoists, including Nambala Keshav Rao, alias Basavaraju, general secretary of CPI-Maoist, in an operation in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district and lauded the the major breakthrough.
Telangana police said that 38 members belonging to the banned CPI (Maoist) Party surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, Bhadradri Kothagudem, on Saturday.
The operation, part of continuous efforts since 2022, targets the activities of the banned CPI (Maoist) organisation, whose top leaders, including Misir Besra, Anmol, and others, are known to operate in the Saranda or Kolhan region.
The surrendered CPI (Maoist) members included cadres from various ranks, including an Area Committee Member (ACM) from Chhattisgarh and members from bordering villages of Telangana.
