The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed a plea challenging the withdrawal of notification of the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) on the celebration of February 14 as 'Cow Hug Day.'
Chairman of the Working Committee of Madhya Pradesh Gopalan and Pashudhan Promotion Board, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri celebrated the cow hug day by worshipping cows at his residence in the district on the occasion.
The Executive Chairman of Gopalan and Pashudhan Samvardhan Board, Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri made the remark in Jabalpur on Saturday a day after AWBI withdrew its appeal urging people to celebrate the 'Cow Hug Day'.
Aiming to celebrate the 'Vedic tradition' and the immense benefits a cow possesses, the board has urged people to celebrate 'Cow Hug Day' on February 14 which is celebrated as Valentine's Day.
Baghel on Thursday said, "Thug (Singh) also got cheated. He cheated entire Chhattisgarh, cheated farmers, cheated women, cheated youth, cheated chit fund company investors as well. Who else duped the Thug Maharaj?"
