Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 61st death anniversary, describing him as the architect of modern India.
During the meeting, Health Secretary directed officials to remain fully prepared for any possible emergency and emphasised that there should be no negligence at any level. He instructed that all COVID-19 management systems must be fully operational and effective.
ICMR Director General Dr. Rajiv Bahl stated that COVID-19 infections are currently mild with low active cases, primarily in southern and western India. Surveillance and preparedness measures are underway, and the government remains vigilant.
After India reported 1,000 active COVID-19 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured on Monday that all city hospitals are fully prepared, and there is no cause for public concern.
A 21-year-old Covid-19 patient who was undergoing treatment at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Kalwa Hospital in Thane after testing positive died, Thane Municipal Corporation said.

A 55-year-old woman from the National Capital Region has been tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first case in Uttar Pradesh's Noida amid the recent surge in cases in India, as per the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Buddha Nagar.
