The Sealdah Court has remanded the main accused of the rape and murder case of a postgraduate trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital to 14 days of judicial custody on Friday.
The Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday extended the CBI custody of the two accused, Dhairya and Dhruv Khattar, to another three days. The court remanded one accused to judicial custody.
The unrest erupted nationwide last year after Imran Khan was detained by paramilitary Rangers from the Islamabad High Court during a corruption case proceeding.
The incident, which shocked the capital, saw three individuals arrive on a motorcycle, with two of them entering the establishment and opening fire on the victim. The arrested accused, Bijender, was identified as the person who was sitting on the motorcycle during the shooting.
