The Election Commission on Monday announced the schedule for assembly election in five states with Chhattisgarh going to the polls in two phases on November 7 and 17
"Preparation for counting Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council elections in Kargil. Security put on high alert around the counting centre to conduct smooth counting. Candidates of several parties also come to the counting centre for results," said an official.
The counting of votes for the Bageswar Assembly seat will be done from the EVM in 13 rounds and 14 tables. Apart from that, the electronic postal ballot system (ETPBS) votes will be counted in nine tables.
The bypoll results are seen as a test for the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA ahead of the five state assembly elections scheduled later this year and the crucial Lok Sabha polls in 2024.
The DUSU elections will be conducted on September 22, 2023, and the timing of voting for day classes is 8.30 am to 1 pm while the voting for the evening classes will begin at 3 pm and end at 7.30 pm. The counting of votes date, time, and venue will be announced later.
