West Bengal Pradesh Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Sunday slammed the ruling Trinamool Congress over deaths in separate incidents of violence that marred Panchayat polls across the state on Saturday.
West Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary visited the hospital in West Bengal's Murshidabad on Saturday to meet the family member of a 62-year-old man who was killed in a bombing incident following the panchayat polls.
"Hon'ble Congress President has appointed Shri Kanhaiya Kumar as AICC In-charge of National Students Union of India (NSUI), with immediate effect," the release read.
The Congress is all set to corner the Central Government on various pressing issues faced in the country including the Manipur violence, rising inflation, unemployment, and the assault on the federal structure of the country the way Governors of different states conducted themselves.
Even as Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday scotched rumours of his resignation in light of the persisting civil unrest in the state, the Congress's Bihar chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh demanded that he step down or be removed by the BJP if he fails to do so.
