After former Karnataka chief minister Jagadish Shettar joined Congress quitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Assembly elections in the State, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said the joining of the prominent Lingayat leader will empower the party.
