The vehicle was returning from Siliguri with 11 passengers on board when it collided head-on with a parked truck stationed on the left side of the road in the early hours today, resulting in severe impact, they said.
According to police, the impact of the collision was so severe that the vehicle was completely crushed, leaving Sidhu fatally injured. He was declared dead on the spot. Sidhu had risen to prominence several years ago with his duet "Paper Ja Pyar" with noted singer Miss Pooja.
Soon after the incident, the police arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to a local hospital and the deceased bodies to the mortuary (PME), registered a case, and are investigating the matter.
According to officials, the police took possession of the bodies on Wednesday night and sent them to the Regional Hospital Una for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
After the collision, hydraulic acid leaked, creating a large plume of smoke; two fire vehicles arrived at the scene, controlled the smoke, and no casualties were reported.
Rajesh Kumar, the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Kanpur, said that the bus, carrying 30 passengers, overturned in Bilhaur tehsil in the district.
