A passenger arriving from Bahrain at Cochin International Airport on Sunday, was arrested by customs officials for attempting to smuggle gold paste concealed within his jeans, according to customs officials.
Customs department officials at Cochin international airport seized 677.200 grams of 'foreign origin gold' from a passenger who came from Kuwait on Thursday.
The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at the Cochin airport in Kerala seized over 700 grams of gold from a passenger who arrived from Saudi Arabia's Jeddah on Sunday.
"On the basis of profiling done by AIU batch intercepted one lady passenger, Jossy from Kozhikode, at the green channel, who arrived from Italy to Cochin via Doha vide Flight QR516," said officials.
