Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday slammed All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi and said that he will close 300 more madrassas this year.
On the mark of completion of two years of the current Assam government, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Ayushman Asom - Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AA-MMJAY) during a programme held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The Home (A) department of the Assam government on Tuesday transferred three Superintendents of Police (SPs) of security to the Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that about 300 officers and jawans of Assam police who are habitual drinkers would be offered voluntary retirement.
"This agreement will bring peace to the state. DNLA representatives have agreed to abjure violence, surrender all arms and ammunition, disband their armed organisation, vacate all camps and join the peaceful democratic process as established by the law," Assam CM Sarma told ANI.
To give a major push in this direction, the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday held a preparatory meeting for the forthcoming three-day Deputy Commissioner's (DCs) conference slated to be held in Tinsukia from May 12 to 14.
'Gunotsav' is a state government initiative that focuses mainly on the assessment of learning outcomes of children for identifying the learning gaps and subsequently designing remedial measures for improvement.
