The Member of Parliament and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut visited the Thunag subdivision in Mandi district on Sunday, amid widespread destruction and loss of lives caused by cloudbursts and flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall across Himachal Pradesh.
Landslides, flash floods, cloudbursts, electrocution, snake bites, and other weather-induced hazards caused the 47 rain-related fatalities. Mandi district reported the highest number of such deaths at 17, followed by Kangra with 11, and Una with four.
The death toll in Mandi district has risen to 14 amid widespread destruction and loss of lives caused by cloudbursts and flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall. The most affected areas are Thunag subdivision, Karsog Gohar subdivision and Dharampur subdivision, DC Mandi said.
