The Sensex plummeted by a staggering 900.91 points, closing at 63,148.15, while the Nifty also experienced a substantial drop of 264.90 points, concluding the trading day at 18,857.25.
The Sensex, India's benchmark index, closed 522.82 points lower at 64,049.06. Its counterpart, the Nifty, also witnessed a decline, closing 159.60 points down at 19,122.15.
The Sensex began the session with a fall of 178.66 points, standing at 65,216.98, while the Nifty was down by 67.70 points, closing at 19,481.00 as this report was being compiled. Nifty companies experienced 43 declines and only 7 advances.
At the closing bell, Sensex was down 760.89 points, concluding the week at 65,415.69. Simultaneously, Nifty also registered a decline of 180.55 points, finishing the week at 19,541.45.
The Sensex concluded the day 247.78 points lower, closing at 65,629.24, while the Nifty ended 58.95 points down, closing at 19,624. Among the Nifty companies, 17 saw advances, while 33 recorded declines.

The benchmark Sensex closed with a notable gain of 261.16 points, reaching 66,428.09. Simultaneously, the Nifty, India's key stock index, also saw a closing gain of 77.85 points, closing at 19,817.70.
Indian stock indices extended losses from the past week's closing, though marginally, and all eyes are now on a series of Q2 company earnings of sectoral majors coupled with wholesale inflation data for September due later in the day.
