The Supreme Court on Wednesday slammed the Uttar Pradesh government authorities for the illegal demolition of houses for road widening while terming the action by the state as "high-handed" and without authority of law.
The letter highlights an alleged lack of action regarding recent incidents of judicial misconduct, particularly involving a senior advocate at the Madras High Court, which has led to growing agitation within the legal community.
The Chief Justice of India stated that he has stopped going for morning walks because of the rising levels of air pollution."I have stopped going out for morning walks due to the rising levels of air pollution in the national capital," he said.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Saturday said that living life in oneness with nature can help people to combat challenges posed by climate change.

Upon approval by the government, Justice Khanna will become the 51st Chief Justice of India. He is set to serve a tenure of six months, concluding on May 13, 2025, before his retirement.
