The Union government, through the Ministry of Law and Justice, has initiated the formal process to appoint the next Chief Justice of India (CJI), with incumbent Justice BR Gavai scheduled to retire on November 23, 2025.
In his letter addressed to CJI BR Gavai, K Kavitha urged an independent judicial inquiry into the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Group I examination and the associated recruitment process to ensure transparency and accountability.
