A delegation of the Election Commission of India led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar arrived in Ranchi on Monday to review poll preparedness for assembly elections in Jharkhand expected to be held later this year.
The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) on Sunday wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) over concerns regarding electoral integrity and allegations of corruption within the association.
"There are forces determined to disrupt the election process, but we are fully prepared, and the ballot is the answer to such forces," said Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar after briefing election observers for Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticised the central government regarding the conduct of the election process and questioned the delay in the announcement of the schedule in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, where the elections are due this year.
