Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai saluted the courage of the security forces after five Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces on Sunday in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur.
According to the Superintendent of Police, Bijapur, Jitendra Yadav, "5 Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces. The bodies of 2 female naxals and 3 male naxals have been recovered. The identification of the deceased is yet to be done."
The CMO in an X post said that the Chairman of the Adani Group announced a planned investment of Rs 60,000 crore to expand the group's power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh. This expansion is expected to enhance Chhattisgarh's total power generation capacity by an additional 6,120 MW
An exchange of fire is underway between security forces and Naxalites in the forests under the National Park area of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, said police officials.
A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan has been injured as improvised explosive device (IED) laid down by the Naxalites exploded in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Saturday, officials said.
"This is a very unfortunate incident. This rescue operation continued for 36 hours...we could remove the silo structure after a lot of effort. Further rescue operations can be now done easily..." Deputy CM Arun Sao said while speaking to the media.
Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Navneet Kaur Chhabra said that the FIR was lodged under sections 106 (1), 289 and 35 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Patnaik said that the Panchayat Raj representatives including Sarpanches and Panchayat Samiti members of the Kirimira block in Odisha's Jharsuguda district were detained by Chhattisgarh police in Mahasamund.
