Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal launched an attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Chandigarh mayor elections and called it a "brazen", "shameless capture" of the democratic system.
Former MP Ashok Tanwar tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday citing the reason as the alignment of AAP with the Indian National Congress for Chandigarh Mayor elections.
After the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party decided to jointly contest the Chandigarh Mayor elections on January 18, AAP MP Raghav Chadha on Tuesday said that this election will change the picture and direction of politics, adding "This will be the first match of BJP vs INDIA bloc."
