Karnataka Minister Eshwar Khandre on Tuesday said that the purpose of the socio-economic and educational survey being conducted in the State is to understand the socio-economic conditions of all communities, enabling the government to ensure social justice for all.
"Enumeration has been done in 80% of the population. There are some slow districts that have to be completed before the 7th", Parameshwara told reporters here.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Sunday said that the earlier caste census was not accurate, which is why the state government has approved a new survey.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday reaffirmed his government's commitment to completing the ongoing caste census and said that survey work will be completed by October 7.
He stated that the Socio-Economic and Education Survey, popularly known as the caste census or survey, being carried out by the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes was not limited to any particular caste or religion, but was meant for everyone.
