The Prime Minister is presently on his maiden state visit to the United States, during which he will lead celebrations of International Yoga Day at the United Nations Headquarters in New York today.

PM Modi is invited by the US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden. The visit will commence in New York where the Prime Minister will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters on June 21.

PM Modi will lead a 9th edition of International Yoga Day on June 21 at the United Nations headquarters in New York during his official state visit to the United States.
As a part of International Yoga Day celebrations, many Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in programs at different places.
"The main highlight of this year's celebration is that P Modi will for the first time lead a mass yoga demonstration at UN Headquarters, New York. It is the same location from where 9 years ago Prime Minister had proposed the observance of International Day of Yoga in 2014," he said.
