Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Irrigation Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday said that 30 TMC (thousand million cubic feet) of water has been released to Tamil Nadu from Cauvery basin reservoirs till now.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Saturday that the state government managed to protect farmers' interests while adhering to court orders on Cauvery water release to Tamil Nadu, thanks to recent heavy rainfall in the region.
The party said that the protest is against the electricity bill hike, the "non-availability" of essential items in the public distribution system in the state and also against the Karnataka government's refusal to comply with the Cauvery water management authority's direction.
The All Party meeting articulated strong resolutions, including the immediate issuance of CWRA orders to Karnataka for releasing the stipulated Cauvery water.
"As far as the Tamil Nadu government is concerned, we are not bothered about what they will discuss but we have urged the CM to represent before the tribunal more effectively in Delhi whenever the meeting is called...," Vijayendra said speaking to ANI on Tuesday.
