On Mahaparinirvan Diwas, commemorating the death anniversary of BR Ambedkar, the Parliamentary Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes on Wednesday presented a detailed report outlining key recommendations.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday accused the state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of indulging minority appeasement politics while doing "injustice" to Dalits and tribal communities.

Amid the ongoing political discourse around caste census, Bahujan Samajwadi Party chief Mayawati on Monday said some parties running governments with a "hateful mindset" towards some castes, are trying to make constitutionally sanctioned reservations in government jobs ineffective.
"We pledge to conduct a caste census in the state if voted back. The census exercise would cover the Scheduled Caste, tribal castes, backward classes, general category and minorities," Baghel announced after unveiling the party's manifesto in Raipur on Sunday.
