A newly married couple was killed, and two others were seriously injured after their car crashed into a parked lorry on National Highway 48 near Kadahalli village in Shiggaon taluk of Haveri district.
Police said the car, driven by Joseph from Alangulam in Tenkasi district, was returning to Chennai after attending a wedding in Tenkasi when it collided with the bus, which had broken down and was standing without warning lights.
State Transport Commissioner CH Nagaraju said that the accident happened out of pure negligence on the part of the driver and his attendant. The preliminary information reveals that the driver was being trained by the person sitting next to him.
In Delhi's Narela, a Maruti Baleno collided with a bike and an e-rickshaw, injuring three people who are now stable. The driver fled, abandoning the car. Delhi Police are investigating and searching for the driver.
