Security forces conducted a successful joint operation in the Behrote area of Budhal in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri, leading to the arrest of two terrorist associates and the recovery of a cache of arms, ammunition, and incriminating material, officials said.
In a joint search operation with the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces on Thursday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition dropped here through a quadcopter flown from across the Line of Control, officials said.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, the encounter broke out after the Indian Army and other security forces launched a joint operation in the Budhal area of Rajouri district.
During the operation, "Intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists" and six terrorists were killed, the ISPR said. It added that a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered.
A large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered by the Indian Army at Poshmargi, Machhal Sector in Kupwara on Saturday, an official statement said.
