The voter turnout in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri Lok Sabha Assembly Seat was recorded 7.08 per cent till 9 am on Monday, the Election Commission of India said.

A day ahead of the Mainpuri Lok Sabha bypoll, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) president Shivpal Singh Yadav on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is sabotaging the Lok Sabha by-polls as drones are being used to monitor his party workers and his home.
Assistant District Election Officer, Mainpuri, Ram Mishra said that the state police, Provincial Armed Constabulary, and paramilitary forces have been deployed.
A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel has slammed the state government over the reservation bill and organising a special assembly session in the state on December 1 and 2.
"Samajwadi Party is going to win elections in Mainpuri. Whenever BJP faces defeat they come up with false allegations against us. Election Commission will make sure that fair elections are conducted," he said.
