India's campaign in the BWF Super 750 competition came to an end after the men's doubles team of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy lost their quarterfinal match earlier in the day as well.
Indian team which is captained by Unnati Hooda and Anupama Upadhyay, is the fifth-seeded team and has been placed in Group B with Slovenia, Australia, China, and Iceland. 38 teams have been divided into eight groups for the competition.
HS Prannoy has been in good form since helping India win their maiden Thomas Cup title in May this year. His best came when he made it to the final of the Swiss Open, a BWF Super 300 event. He also had two semifinal appearances in the Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Open.
The Indian pair, which came into the BWF Super 100 badminton event winning the India Chhattisgarh International Challenge 2022 last week, took 39 minutes to defeat their higher-ranked opponents 21-19, 21-17 in the quarter-finals at the Nguyen Du Cultural Sports Club in Ho Chi Minh City.
