The Chief Minister expressed grief over the loss of lives in the Barabanki building collapse and offered his condolences to the bereaved family members. He also prayed for the peace of the departed souls, said the official statement.
"Late night at 3 am, a three-storey building suddenly collapsed in Barabanki's Fatehpur Kotwali area. There was a stir in the whole area due to the loud sound of the building falling. We received information about this from the local residents," said Barabanki SP.
Teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are engaged in the relief and rescue work, Barabanki Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh said.
A portion of a two-storey building collapsed on Saturday midnight in the Gauripada area of Bhiwandi city leaving two persons dead, officials said, adding that the building is said to be forty-five years old.
In a tragic incident on Wednesday, two people died and two others were injured after a slab of the building collapsed off on them in Navi Mumbai's Nerul area, officials said.
Talking about the development into the case, Municipal Commissioner of Mathura-Vrindavan Municipality Anunaya Jha said that a notice has also been served to almost 60 dilapidated houses for repairing them.
