After announcing that BSP will fight the upcoming elections on its own, the BSP chief said the leaders of her party have started preparing for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav on Thursday said hit out at Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati and Republic Party of India leader and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, claiming they have become "political non-entities".
The youth who died was identified as Nitin Ahirwar (18), a resident of Barodiya Nainagir villager in Sagar district. The incident occurred under Khurai police station in the district on Thursday.
Party sources said the expansion of the organisation, preparations of the party for high stakes battle and booth-level poll strategy, were among the issues, which were likely to be discussed in the meeting.
"Forced imposition of the Uniform Civil Code, UCC on the people of the country is a step, which is neither needed nor useful in view of the present situation of the country, as the previous Law Commission has also said," Mayawati said.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Mayawati said, "Our party (BSP) is not against the implementation of UCC, but we do not support the way BJP is trying to implement Uniform Civil Code in the country. It is not right to politicize this issue and forcefully implement UCC in the country
The meeting kicked off at 10:30 am today at the BSP party office in Lucknow. BSP chief Mayawati was seen giving guidelines on the upcoming strategy ahead of the 2024 polls.
"The boycott and linking it to the respect of a tribal women (President Murmu) is completely unfair," the BSP chief said. Mayawati has, however, said she will not attend the ceremony due to pre-scheduled engagements.
