The Border Security Force (BSF) foiled a smuggling bid in Punjab's Amritsar and arrested three smugglers who were trying to get away with the consignment of heroin.
The BSF troops on Thursday night intercepted a suspected drone near Pakka Chisti village in Fazilka district of Punjab and recovered contraband suspected to be heroin from a farming field.
During the visit, DG BSF inspected the ongoing border fencing work and reviewed the operational preparedness of the BSF Battalion deployed in the area.

In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab police recovered a Chinese drone and contraband items attached to it from a field on the outskirts of the Dal village in Punjab's Tarn Taran, an official statement by the BSF said on Wednesday.
"Acting on a specific tip-off, troops of BSF Meghalaya in different operations seized 37 cattle while being taken towards the International border by smugglers," the BSF said in a press release issued on Tuesday. The operations were carried out on Monday.
