The DGP further informed that the Tarn Taran Police, during its joint search operation with the BSF, recovered a Hexacopter drone which contained 5 kgs of heroin.
Security forces recovered a hexacopter drone equipped with modern technology and packets containing heroin weighing 5 kg from fields near the India-Pakistan border in Tarn Taran district of Punjab, police said on Friday.

Since January 1 till November 30 this year, the troops of BSF under Guwahati Frontier have rescued 8,678 cattle heads, seized 41,876 phensydyl bottles, 5,023 kgs of ganja, 43,719 Yaba tablets (worth Rs 2.18 crore) and 5,13,000 FICN, added officials.

The Border Security Force (BSF) at the International Border near Punjab's Amritsar shot down a drone entering from Pakistan to the Indian territory, it informed on Tuesday.
According to the BSF, the intruder, identified as Safdar Hussain, 39, hailing from Pakistan's Bahawalnagar district was shot below the waist after he defied caution by the sentry.
It was found to be a China-made Quadcopter DJI Matrice 300RTK brand drone, lying in the field near the border. A few cameras were also found fitted in the drone.
One of the intruders was neutralised in retaliatory firing while the other was apprehended, an Army officer said, adding that the two incidents happened at different time durations.
