Indian equity indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50, both ended in the red on Tuesday, due to the losses in banking, Auto, and financial sector stocks.
Indian markets opened flat on Diwali, with both indices struggling between bears and bulls. The Nifty index traded flat with a marginal dip at 24,326.75, down by 0.06 percent during the opening session, while the BSE Sensex index also dipped marginally to trade almost flat at 79,859.62 poin
The BSE Sensex fell by 494.75 points, or 0.61 per cent, to close at 81,006.61, while the NSE Nifty declined by 221.45 points, or 0.89 per cent, to settle at 24,749.85.
The Nifty 50 index opened with a marginal gain of 0.22 per cent or 56.10 points at 25,027.40 points, while the BSE Sensex index opened with a gain of 0.31 per cent at 81,758.07 points, gaining 256.71 points.
The Nifty index gained 59.20 points to open at 25,023, while the BSE Sensex index was also up by 0.24 per cent, gaining 195 points to open at 81,576.93.
Indian stock market indices Nifty and Sensex opened flat on Tuesday as the markets entered a consolidation phase after foreign investors turned towards other Asian markets like China and Hong Kong.
The Nifty 50 index opened at 25,406.65 points, gaining 50.15 points or 0.2 per cent, while the BSE Sensex surged 94.39 points at opening to 82,985.33 or 0.11 per cent.
