Speaking in the Assembly today, chief minister Vijayan said a Special Investigation Team of the State police will investigate the case registered related to the Brahmapuram fire. A vigilance inquiry will also be conducted into the cause of the fire and the proceedings of the plant right star
The monitoring committee which was constituted to inspect the conditions at the Brahmapuram waste plant has submitted its report at the Kerala High Court.
"It is a clear case of corruption. The contract was given to the relative of a CPI (M) leader. That itself shows that there has been a huge corruption in the waste management of Kochi Corporation," V Muraleedharan said.
Earlier, the Kerala High Court constituted a committee to observe the situation at Brahmapuram Waste Management Plant where the fire occurred last week.
Kerala Law and Industries Minister P Rajeev on Saturday requested people not to create "panic" as things were going on as planned in dealing with Brahmapuram fire.
The Court directed that the committee should visit Brahmapuram within 24 hours. It has also asked Kochi Corporation Secretary that how long the smoke should be tolerated.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George has called a high-level meeting for discussing the health issues following the fire incident at the Brahmapuram waste proceeding plant.
