The Central drug regulatory authority Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has recommended market authorisation for Serum Institute of India's Covid vaccine Covovax as a heterologous booster dose for those who have already taken two doses of Covishield or Covaxin.
"No discussion has been started even in the Immunisation panel National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) regarding the second booster," said a separate official source to ANI.
The most recent study clarifies how Pfizer and Moderna mRNA boosters influence the persistence of our Covid-19 antibodies. According to the researchers, a booster produced more durable antibodies in all individuals, including those who had recovered from a Covid-19 infection.
"People should join hands with government measures and follow precautionary measures. There are about 8.5 lakh doses of covid-19 vaccine available in the state and I urge everyone to get the third dose," Minister Sudhakar said.
"I appeal to the people of Karnataka to take the booster dose at the earliest. People should wear masks, especially in indoor places and maintain social distancing," K Sudhakar said.
