A bomb disposal squad of Jammu and Kashmir Police defused an old rusted mortar shell in a controlled explosion in Samba district on Sunday, officials said.
Pakistan's Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials defused an explosive device found in a suspicious bag near Adiala Jail, The News International reported.
Security forces on Friday detonated three suspicious gas cylinders found in Ganapora village of Kralgund in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, according to an official release.
A suspicious object likely an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that was detected on Srinagar Baramulla National Highway at Hanjiwera Pattan has been defused by security forces on Monday.
After further investigation, the police found that nothing was suspicious. A child saw an abandoned bag and informed the police, claiming that it may contain a bomb.
"We received information about a suspicious object lying near the highway. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called and an IED was found. The IED has been destroyed by the team," SP Rural Jammu, Rahul Charak said.
According to police, a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and vacated the premises. However, as per the officials, no objectionable material was recovered from the spot.
