The accused have been identified as Ganesh Chukkal, Sameer Sawant and Vinod Mirgal - all from Siliguri. The trio were planning to flee to Sikkim, officials said.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya on Saturday exculpated the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) of any "irregularity" or "non-transparency" in a complaint filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Monday wrote a letter to BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal pertaining to alleged irregularities for road mega-tenders in Mumbai and asked who proposed the concretization of nearly 400 km of roads in the city.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday questioned Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal in connection with the probe into the alleged Covid centre scam.
BMC administration said it already provided factual information regarding the proposed concretisation of roads, but still, there has been criticism on the tendering process.
"This 400 km tender seems to be a farce. Till now, the process has been that anyone who wants to do the bidding, would bid 20 per cent less than the estimated price to win the tender," Thackeray added.
