The Delhi High Court on Tuesday reserved its on order on pleas of seven BJP MLAs who challenged their suspension from Delhi legislative Assembly for an indefinite period.
The seven suspended BJP MLAs on Thursday argued that the motion for their suspension was unconstitutional and violative of their fundamental rights. They can't be punished twice for a single act of violation, counsels submitted in their concluding arguments.
The senior counsel Jayant Mehta also informed the court that they wrote a letter to the Lieutenant Governor, who has accepted their apology. They have also sent a copy of the letter to the Speaker. It was submitted that they were ready to meet the Speaker, the counsels said.
