Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Patna on Saturday night for his two-day visit to Bihar. He was warmly welcomed at the Patna airport by senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from the state.
The opposition parties on Thursday protested outside the Bihar Legislative Assembly on various issues, including the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 and the inclusion of the revised quota in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.
The altercation began when Rabri Devi accused the ruling side of suppressing opposition voices on key public issues, such as rapes, thefts, and robberies happening in the state.
"He (MLA Sugay Yadav) is using mobile phone and talking, this has been stopped, it is restricted, but still he is showing the mobile and speaking," Nitish Kumar said in the assembly.
The Congress leader claimed that basic amenities were lacking in Outpatient Department (OPD) areas, and emergency Operation Theatres (OTs) were unavailable in all test-checked Sub-Divisional Hospitals (SDHs).
The speculation started when Janata Dal-United (JDU) supporters put up a poster outside the party office in Patna in support of CM Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar.
As part of this initiative, the party will organise a series of events aimed at fostering Bihari pride and cultural identity. Under the "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" and "Sneha Milan" programs, multiple activities will be held nationwide from March 22 to March 30 to mark Bihar Day.
