The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the establishment of International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) with headquarters in India with a one-time budgetary support of Rs 150 crore for a period of five years from 2023-24 to 2027-28, an official statement said.

Forest officials managed to trap and capture yet another leopard, taking the count to five, near the seventh mile of the Narasimhaswamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Thursday.
It was seen in the viral video of the leopard that it neither roared nor attacked anyone. The villagers were treating the leopard like a cow’s calf. Such cases were seen in neurological disorders when the animal forgets its identity, the veterinary doctor said.
This marks the fourth big cat that has been captured since the beginning of ‘Operation Leopard’, which began earlier this month and was initiated after several leopards were sighted on the walkway to the hilltop temple.
The body of the leopard was found late at night on Thursday. The age of the big cat is said to be around 5 years. On getting the information about the matter, the officials of the forest department rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
A villager named Bharat Panwar who spotted the leopard at around 4 PM claimed that the same big cat has been roaming continuously in the village for the past couple of days.
