Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has met Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the country's Druk Green Power Corporation for a 570 MW hydroelectric plant in Chukha province.
PM Tobgay is among the distinguished guests set to attend the eagerly awaited ceremony in which BJP leader Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time.
Tobgay said that PM Modi whom he refers to as his elder brother, has offered his support and his government's assistance, for Bhutan's 13 five-year plan. And for that, on behalf of all the people of Bhutan, I would like to offer my gratitude to the PM and the people of India."
PM Modi's posters along with his Bhutanese counterpart have been adorned all over the airport and the venue has been decorated with flowers and Rangoli (coloured artwork).
" Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a State visit to Bhutan from 21-22 March 2024. The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Bhutan and the Government's emphasis on its Neighbourhood First Policy," ministry said.
