Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay said he witnessed the signing of the 570 MW Wangchhu Hydropower Project agreement between Adani Power Ltd. and Druk Green Power Corporation, calling it a milestone in Bhutan-India clean energy cooperation.

Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and his spouse Aum Tashi Doma will visit India from September 3-6, the MEA said. Their programme includes stops in Gaya, Ayodhya and Delhi, where External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will call on him before the visit concludes.

Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani, on Thursday, thanked Prime Minister of Tshering Tobgay after Adani Group and the Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) of Bhutan signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop 5,000 MW of hydropower projects in Bhutan jointly.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Tobgay said that PM Modi has been "extremely kind to him." He also talked about the support offered by the Indian government and PM Modi in Bhutan's 13th five-year plan.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the work completed by the respective field survey teams and other stakeholders on boundary-related field matters. They also finalised the work plan for the next three field seasons.
