Farmers in Kutch Bhuj have suffered huge losses, especially in the farming of Baha mango and kharek crops. The maximum impact of Biparjoy was witnessed in parts of Kutch and Saurashtra. This cyclonic storm was accompanied by rain and caused devastating wind, storm and thunder.
Soon after arriving in Kutch, the Union Minister will first conduct an aerial survey of affected areas and then visit shelter homes to meet people. Shah will then visit Mandvi and meet people affected by the cyclone.
The cyclone, which originated in the Arabian Sea swept across the west coast of India made landfall on Thursday night around 10 km north of the Jakhau Port in Kutch, as per IMD reports.
According to the official release, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is in continuous communication with its Regional Offices in all States of the Western Coast (including Gujarat) with instructions to provide requisite support to the States in their preparedness for the cyclone.
