Newly appointed Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and his deputy Mukesh Agnihotri are scheduled to join the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan on Friday.
A First Information Report (FIR) was filed on a complaint against veteran Congress leader and former minister Raja Pateria for allegedly making provocative remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Powai police station of Madhya Pradesh's Panna district on Monday, police said.
Resuming Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi tweeted that the progress of the country is only possible with the progress of women.
It has covered Jhalawar and Kota districts before reaching Bundi and will proceed to Sawai Madhopur, Dausa and Alwar districts. Rajasthan is the only Congress-ruled state where the yatra has entered and will cover about 500 km over 17 days before entering Haryana on December 21.
"Why do you all take Rahul Gandhi seriously, all institutions are working well, if not how we (BJP) lost in Himachal Pradesh. Whenever they (Congress) is defeated they blame it on institutions (Election Commission)," said Union Minister Pralhad Joshi in Hubli.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) was the key to the party winning the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.
As Congress was poised to form government in Himachal Pradesh according to the results and trends of the counting of votes, party president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday said Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra has contributed in party's performance in the hill state.
Accusing LS TV, Gandhi said that the channel never turns towards the opposition in the parliamentary session whenever they try to raise the issues like demonetisation or China.
