India finished the final day of the Special Olympics World Games by taking their medal tally to 202 medals (76 gold, 75 silver and 51 bronze), with the last of the medals coming from the athletics track. Indian athletes notched six medals from the track events (2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze)
India registered their first gold medals at the Special Olympics World Games 2023 as Geetanjali Nagvekar won gold in the 800m Level C. The real highlight though, came from the roller-skating rink, Indian athletes bringing eight medals (2 golds, 2 silver and 4 bronze) through the day.
The biggest performances of the day came from Swimming, where 11 out of 12 Indian athletes qualified for the semi-finals in their respective categories of 25m freestyle, 25m breaststroke, and 50m breaststroke. Also, four Indians qualified for the Semi-Finals in Athletics.
